Smith Case

How it Works

The Smith Case is like the “Tank” Air Cart; however, it is more compact, more portable, and can be used in smaller and tighter configurations. The case is a portable Plastic case with a configuration of check valves, an air regulator, and relief valves, along with two or three air cylinders attached. Air and water go into the case, and the Lifeline Firehose is attached to the other side. Thus, it is a portable manifold through which air and water flow and connect to the Lifeline Firehose.

It may serve as a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) tool for the second truck or apparatus that arrives – though it is not limited to use by the RIT, as RIT operations may vary from one department or organization to another. Despite its portability and versatile placement, it may take a longer time to set up than the “tank” air cart, which is ready for use once it is dismounted from the apparatus.
